Preparing for your session
Four things to get right before your session: the room you sit in, the computer you test on, the second device that watches the room, and the identification you bring. Work through them in order — each one takes a few minutes, and an examiner will check all four before the exam starts.
- Your room — a door you can close, a clear desk, nobody else present.
- Your computer — Windows or Mac, one screen, notifications off, everything else closed.
- Your second device — a phone or tablet on a stand, at ninety degrees to your side.
- Your identification — what counts, and what to bring if you are under 18.
Pre-exam checklist
Work through this the day before, not five minutes beforehand. An examiner checks every one of these before the exam starts, and a session cannot go ahead if something is missing.
